This is the privacy policy for philippdodeus.com, the portfolio and contact site for Philipp Dodeus, an independent acoustic and audio engineer based in Lisbon, Portugal. It explains the little personal data this site touches, why, and what your options are.

What This Site Doesn't Do
There are no user accounts, no login, no e-commerce, no advertising, and no server-side database behind this site. Nothing here is sold, shared, or monetized, because nothing beyond the two functional cookies and the contact form described below is collected in the first place.
The Contact Form
The contact form on the Contacts page asks for a name, email address, and message. Pressing Send opens a pre-filled draft in your own default email application, addressed to mc.dodeus@gmail.com - nothing is transmitted to or stored by this website itself. The form only prepares an email for you to send yourself, through your own email provider. Once sent, that message is handled the same way as any other email, by your provider and by Philipp's own inbox.
Cookies
This site sets two cookies, both first-party and purely functional - neither is used for advertising or tracking, so neither requires a cookie-consent banner under EU ePrivacy rules. Clearing them through your browser settings simply resets the site to its defaults.

Third-Party Services
A couple of external services are embedded on this site. No other third-party scripts, trackers, analytics tools, or advertising pixels run here.
Google Maps
The Contacts page embeds a Google Maps view of the Lisbon area. Loading it may let Google see your IP address and browser information, governed by Google's own privacy policy.
The WhatsApp button and QR code link to wa.me. The QR code itself is generated locally on this site's own server and contacts no external service, but scanning it or clicking through takes you to WhatsApp, where Meta's own privacy policy applies.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's infrastructure processes standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and request metadata, as part of delivering the site to your browser. Philipp Dodeus doesn't access or use those logs for tracking - they're a normal part of web hosting.
Data Retention
Because the site doesn't collect or store the content of the contact form, there's nothing to retain there. The two cookies above persist on your own device until they expire or you clear them.
Your Rights
If you're in the EU, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar protections, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of information held about you, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority - in Portugal, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt). Since this site retains no personal data beyond the two functional cookies above, most of these rights are already satisfied by clearing your cookies.
